Keausan Poros Propeller yang Berlebihan Akibat Beban Radial Seal pada Lingkungan Air Laut
Abstract
Gesekan antara dua benda secara terus menerus mengakibatkan timbulnya keausan. Keausan yang terus menerus terbentuk mengakibatkan adanya kerusakan dan kecacatan pada material yang terkikis. Faktor yang akan menimbulkan terjadinya keausan dalam pemilihan material sangat mungkin menjadi bahan masukan dalam merencanakan suatu sistem propulsi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perilaku karakteitik keausan pada pasangan material kontak antara poros dengan seal akibat beban radial pada lingkungan air laut. Metode numerik dengan pendekatan Reynold dilakukan untuk mendapatkan  pendekatan secara matematis terhadap pertemuan kontak antara dua benda. Terjadinya keausan seal dan poros propeller juga disebabkan oleh kombinasi antara interaksi gesekan terhadap pelumasan air laut. Beban radial pada putaran poros propeller menjadikan seal dan poros propeller mengalami keausan pada tingkat, volume, dan kedalaman yang berbeda-beda.
